instead of是复合介词吧？复合介词也是介词，对不对？假如instead of的后面接动词呢？是需要要用动名词吗？还是可以用其他形式？
▲instead of是介词，但却是连词的使用方法，由于它连接两个并列的成分。
We just had soup instead of a full meal.大家没吃全餐，只喝了汤。
Will you go to the party instead of me?你替我赴宴怎么样?
Shall we have fish instead of meat today?今天大家不吃肉吃鱼怎么样?
Taking exercise every day makes him look younger instead of older. 天天训练身体使他看着年轻而不显老。
He walks slowly instead of quickly. 他走路缓慢, 而不迅速。
We went to the Biology class instead of attending the English lesson. 大家去上生物课而不去上英语课。

▲两点注意
1. 当 instead of 连接的动词与前面是完全同等的成分时，则依据前面的动词形式确定：
He wishes to go instead of stay at home.他期望去而不留在家。（同为并列不定式）
I went to borrow a book instead of buy one. 我去借了一本书，而不是买了一本书。（同上）
That increased instead of decreased our courage. 那不但没减弱反而增强了大家的勇气。（并列谓语，后接同一个宾语时）
2. 当 instead of 连接的动词与句子的谓语动词不是完全等同时，其后用动名词形式。
Lets play cards instead of watching television. 咱们玩纸牌吧，别看电视了。
We went to the Biology class instead of attending the English lesson.大家去上生物课而不去上英语课。
He has been playing all afternoon instead of getting on with his work.他整个下午一直在玩, 没继续工作。
